My Pink-Inspired New Year’s Resolutions

Happy 2025!

One of my main resolutions for this year centers on consistent content creation! I aim to publish a new blog post each week. This commitment not only holds me accountable to my schedule but also forces me to be more creative. I have concepts planned for the entire year, with some posts being purely text-based while others will feature images that I need to capture. I’m thrilled to take this hobby seriously, as I’ve wanted to pursue it since high school. With 2025 marking my college graduation and entry into grad school, I believe it's the perfect time to return to old hobbies I love.

Let’s dive straight into my pink-themed New Year’s Resolutions! Not everything is pink-themed, but I love that title!

1.No Buy 2025

If you know me, you know I LOVE to shop. It doesn’t matter what type of shopping; I enjoy it all. I should be a professional shopper. Whether it’s grocery shopping, beauty products, or gift buying, I enjoy every bit of it. I’m 21 and turning 22 this year, so I need to be serious about how I spend my money and if it’s worth it. I want to buy a house and raise a family in the next 10 years, so I might as well start saving now! I’ve created a list of rules to follow at least until I move in June or until my birthday in July. The goal is to spend as little as possible.

Rules:

  • No new clothes

  • No new beauty

  • No home decor

  • No buying “wants” - add to a list in notes app to save for bday/xmas

  • No new books (unless gift card and have to be finished all other books at home)

  • Can only eat out 2x/month - preferably with friends or if have gift card

  • Only buy 1 drink when out - get people to buy or drink before

  • No to-go coffee unless you have a gift card

  • No movies or concerts (I don’t typically do these anyways)

  • Can buy groceries - set budget/list and stick to it at Aldi

  • Can pay bills/rent - try to lower bills like electricity

  • Can refill toiletries, personal care, and household once FULLY gone!

  • Any car things - gas, oil change, car wash

  • Medical - dr. appointments, prescriptions

  • Orangetheory membership

2. Consistent Content

As I mentioned above, I want to take content creation more seriously. I do not necessarily need to make a career out of it. However, I want a cohesive feed that I love and can look back on in the future. I will accomplish this goal using my new planner to create a strong schedule to follow and achieve. This means planning out my content, having filming and editing days, and scheduling posts. I want to make sure my personal brand is portrayed in everything I post, and I can make that happen with a consistent schedule and plan. 2025 is the year of Positively Pretty with a Side of Pink!

3. Healthy Eating - Whole Foods, Limit Processed & Eating Out

At the start of each year, everyone and their mother sets this goal, and I’m no exception. I’ve been setting this goal annually but never achieving it. I think that’s because I often make it too broad, and as a college student, I tend to prioritize convenience over quality. This year, I’m fully committed to changing that and I’m already off to a strong start. Each week, I will make sure to sit down and plan meals that primarily consist of whole foods, focusing on the nutrients I need. I spent most of December in Europe, and I felt the best I’ve ever felt. I genuinely believe it was due to the food. I returned a few pounds lighter and feeling great. I want to maintain that by cooking at home instead of grabbing quick meals out where I have no idea what’s in them.

4. Separate Places for Work

This goal is a bit more personal, making more sense in my mind than on paper. I essentially want to stop working on my couch because I also use it to relax. I tend to associate my couch with relaxation, so when I start to work there, I get tired and don't produce good results. I also have an island with bar stools, and sometimes I bring my laptop over to work while I eat, which is a habit I want to break. I want to keep different spaces for different activities. My goal is to keep work and homework at my desk and in various workspaces around my apartment. I get more done this way and want to reserve my couch and island for relaxing and eating.

5. Daily Journal and Bible

These are self-explanatory, but I want to ensure that I wake up with extra time in the morning to spend 15-20 minutes journaling and doing my Bible study, as those activities are very important to me.

6. Nightly Closing Shift

This “nightly closing shift” concept seems to have originated on TikTok last year. I set it as a goal last year and believe I have followed it quite well, so we are simply maintaining the habit. I dislike waking up to a messy apartment, so if I can spend 10-15 minutes tidying up before heading to bed, I’ll be able to start my day strong and stress-free. For me, this means putting everything off the counters away, ensuring no dishes are left in the sink, taking out the trash if needed, folding blankets and placing them in their spots, and putting clothes in my closet. I’ve always been a bit of a neat freak, so this isn’t a difficult task for me, but I prefer to ensure it’s done daily.

7. Monthly Solo Date

This goal is not something I think I will do monthly, but I will try. I ate by myself at a sit-down restaurant for the first time in Europe, and I loved it. I want to try to do it a few times this year, just to spend time with myself. I can also do small things like getting coffee and going for a walk. The main reason I am putting this on my goals is to remind myself to go to a restaurant because I tend to do small self-dates all the time!

8. Monthly Scrapbook Recap

This is new to me, as I have just started enjoying printing pictures and collecting random things from daily life, like tickets, receipts, and stickers. Each month, I want to gather all my pictures and write a monthly recap to reflect on my year and honestly remember everything I did. This is, of course, is pink-inspired, as the entire scrapbook I have is pink!

9. Read 24 Books

I was committed to reading last year, and I want to maintain that momentum by reading at least two books each month. I usually read each night before bed, so this shouldn't be difficult for me. However, I want to ensure that I can check my reading list and have completed 24 books by the end of the year!

10. Make a Prayer Board

I am Catholic and have recently found myself on Christian/Catholic TikTok, and I am loving it. I’ve seen many people creating prayer boards instead of vision boards, as it demonstrates a desire for God’s plan to unfold in your future rather than focusing on personal aspirations. I don’t want to delve too deeply into this since everyone has different beliefs, but it’s something I plan to do!

11. Exercise Routine

This is another goal that everyone sets each year, but it is so true. I have been consistently going to Orange Theory almost daily; however, I feel like I need a bit of variation. I want to make sure that I feel good about my workouts and am not exhausting myself.

12. Limit Scrolling

Attempting to limit mindless scrolling is something that every single person in today’s world desperately needs. I love social media, don't get me wrong, but I think we all need it in moderation. I spend way too much time on my phone scrolling on TikTok and Instagram, and I need to stop and think about what else I could be doing because I know that I could do a whole lot more.

13. Learn How to Make Sourdough

Last but not least, I want to make sourdough! I love cooking and baking, and since I want to eat better, I figured homemade sourdough is a perfect way to do that! Don’t worry, I will document the journey on YouTube!

I love setting goals for myself because it feels great knowing I’m benefiting my future self. It might be tough to start, but you’ll feel amazing once you do. I thought my resolutions were a perfect way to start the New Year and my year of blog posts. I plan to publish blog posts every Friday to wrap up my week with a fun, relaxing activity. I hope you stay tuned for all the exciting topics I intend to cover!
